Marine Fluid Technology partners with Chris Marine, to introduce the service of Liner Diameter Measurements as part of our portfolio |
||
January, 2021 Marine Fluid Technology is proud to offer the new service of Liner Diameter Measurements (LDM) using the high quality and MAN approved tool, developed by Chris Marine. The LDM monitoring service offers accurate measurements of cylinder liners and can be used to verify wear or deformation, as a complement to regular scavenging port inspections. Why prioritize cylinder condition monitoring and reconditioning? Marine Fluid offers day-to-day measurements in Denmark and fast response time in Europe. Included in the service the customer is presented with a Chris Marine generated report presenting measurement results, detecting abnormal deformations, and with recommendations towards a better engine condition. Contact us for more information. ‘Read more our LDM monitoring service: Here.

Marine Fluid Technology partners with Bindemann Group to introduce SEA-Mate® Lubricant Blending-on-Board System to the German market |
September 19, 2018 PRESS RELEASE Christian Bindemann Group have commenced with the promotion of the Marine Fluid Technology’s (MFT) SEA-Mate® Blending-on-Board (BOB) system as the official sales agent for the technology in Germany. Originally developed by Maersk for use on A.P Moller-Maersk Group's fleet of containerships, MFT’s BOB technology allows for the blending of the in-use system oil, or a low BN cylinder oil, as a base oil, with a high-BN cylinder oil product to produce a Fit-for-Purpose cylinder lubricant and facilitate the addition of fresh system oil to the engine sump. With BOB units on board, ship operators can blend cylinder lubricant compositions that match actual engine operating conditions and fuel Sulphur levels. The use of this technology can reduce cylinder oil consumption and alleviate issues such as cold corrosion and excessive cylinder wear. It can also mitigate issues associated with worn system oil causing problems for the hydraulic control system in modern, electronic two-stroke engines. The SEA-Mate® BOB system has obtained letters of no objection from MAN Diesel & Turbo and Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD) engines and is suitable for use on all types of two-stroke engines. Evergas and Clipper Group to Equip Vessels with Maersk Fluid Technology SEA-Mate® Lubricant Blending-On-Board System |
June 6, 2017
A recent influx of orders for the SEA-Mate® Blending-on-Board (BOB) system confirms industry interest in technical solutions that enable ship operators to blend fit-for-purpose cylinder lubricant compositions on board their vessels that match actual engine operating conditions and fuel sulphur levels. Onboard lubricant blending can reduce cylinder oil consumption and alleviate issues such as cold corrosion and excessive cylinder wear. It can also mitigate issues associated with worn system oil causing problems for the hydraulic control system in modern, electronic 2-stroke engines. Initially a tool for reduction of lubrication issues on very large 2-stroke engines, the concept is today available in three different sizes and suitable for all modern 2-stroke engines. Since the 2015 introduction, the SEA-Mate® B1000 system has also been adopted for vessels owned by Bertling, Masterbulk and Evergas. For the smaller B500 system, the Clipper group has in 2017 taken delivery of the first unit, to be fitted on a vessel equipped with an MAN Diesel S42MC engine. Read more about the EverGas and Clipper Group orders in our press release or visit MarineInsight.com to learn more about the current shipowner interest in adapting lubrication to actual operating conditions.

Maersk Fluid Technology to present at 39th Propulsion & Emissions conference in May 2017 |
May 5, 2017
Shipowners face continuously changing requirements for engine fuel – and thus also for 2-stroke engine lubrication. With the latest generation of Blending-on-Board lubrication management system, cylinder oil is blended on the go, making it possible to optimize for both running conditions and the fuel specifications, being it traditional HFO or alternative fuels. Our presentation will touch on the challenges shipowners deal with today, and how a blending system can help mitigate both liner lubrication issues and system oil contamination issues and facilitate refreshment of system oil leading to reduced energy consumption and increased lifetime for cylinder & hydraulic system components. Sune Lilbaek, Head og Sales & Marketing at Maersk Fluid tehnology, will talk about 2-stroke engine "Lubrication Optimization Challenges - before and after 2020" at Motorships 39th conference on Propulsion and Emission, taking place in Hamburg on May 10-12th.
Read the summary of our presentation at the Motorship Blog from May 9th (time-stamp 14.57 -> 15.10).
